FACILITY ARCHITECT
FSY Architects, Inc. Arturo
Yanez AIA,
Principal-in-charge with
partners Vijay Sehgal and
John Fisher completed the
designs for the Nate Holden
Performing Arts Center. FSY
Architects Inc. is a
certified SBE/DBE/MBE full
service architectural firm
located in Los Angeles, CA.
Project experience range in
scope and size including
arts and entertainment
venues, educational
facilities, specialized
housing urban planning, and
interiors. The firm has been
recipient of many AIA awards
and its work has been
published both nationally
and abroad. FSY Architects,
Inc. has provided
architectural services for
$1.5 billion worth of
construction and has to a
large extent focused on new
restored and renovated
theaters performing arts
facilities and music halls
for public and private
clients locally, nationally
and internationally. The
Nate Holden Performing Arts
Center has won several
design awards, for the FSY
firm, the Design Excellence
Award (2001); the Southern
California Development
Forum's Community Enrichment
Award (2004) and a Citation
Award (2004). |

PLAZA |

PLAZA
The Plaza area is indented
from the sidewalk in a
semi-circular area coming
off of the Washington Blvd.
with tempered glass
streetscape into the lobby
through the glass doors.
Neatly tucked under the tent
like canopies rising above
the Plaza surface, the entry
way onto the Plaza is
dressed with four distinct
trees and often serves in
the warm summer nights as a
local cafe area during
intermission. |

FIRST FLOOR |

LOBBY
The Lobby is located
on the first floor and
provides access to the
Theatre, the Blue Room, RS1,
RS2, and the
stairway and elevator to the
second floor.
In the Lobby, you'll also
find the Box Office,
Concession Stand, rest rooms
and phone areas.
THEATRE
The Theatre is
comprised of (402) seats,
with (24) removal seats to
accommodate an orchestra pit
for 6-8 pieces or a modified
thrust theater stage
configuration.
BLUE
ROOM
The Blue Room is a
1200 sq. ft. Rehearsal
Hall/Studio. It is
primarily used for
rehearsals, community
meetings, seminars, video
recording sessions,
receptions and related
activities. A Control Booth
is located adjacent to the
Blue Room and is
currently not equipped with
recording equipment. Plans
are underway for its
development.
CAFE GALLERY
The Cafe Gallery is on
the northwest corner at
Harcourt and Washington and
can be accessed via the
Plaza or Lobby. It is a 1200
sq. ft. space enclosed
behind tempered glass.
The Cafe Gallery also includes
a loft on the mezzanine
level.
CABARET SPACE
The Cabaret Space is on
the southeast corner at the
Palm and Washington and can
be accessed via the Plaza
and Lobby. It is 1945 sq.
ft. space.

BACKSTAGE AREA |

CHANGE ROOM
If a quick backstage
change is needed, the Change
Room is the perfect space.
It is ADA accessible with
toilet facilities and a
sink. The Change Room is
large enough to accommodate
a clothing rack for the
silver quick changes needed
to get an actor on and off
the stage quickly.
PROP ROOM
The Prop Room is used
by our staff as a
storage room.
LOADING DOCK
The Loading Dock is
located on the west side of
the building just off
Harcourt. With a large 50'
high backstage door, you can
load/unload all major stage
equipment and props with
easy access to the backstage
and basement areas.

THEATRE
BALCONY
The
Theatre Balcony contains (88) fixed and
(14) loose seats and can be
accessed via the main stairs
and elevator. The theatre
was designed by Fisher Sehgal Yanez,
Inc. so you can be assured
that every seat has an
excellent sight lines to the
stage.

STAR DRESSING ROOMS
There are two Star dressing
rooms with a capacity to
accommodate up to two people
per room. Each dressing room
provides a shower/restroom
facility and is equipped
with a video monitor
presenting the stage video
feed.

to 12 people per room. Each
dressing room provides a

GREEN ROOM
The
Green Room serves as an
excellent lounge area for
the artists and performers
to meet and greet their VIP
guests. The Green Room is
replete with comfortable
seating, cabinets and a
sink. It is also equipped
with a wall-mounted video
monitor ensuring that no
performer or guest will miss
any cues or presentation of
the event. |
